When I discovered Seymour Krim I couldn’t find anyone who had heard of him. To me he was the missing beat, hence the title of my book.
But over the last few days I’ve been hearing from people who not only have heard of him, but knew or corresponded with him.
Prof. Mark Shechner at SUNY Buffalo read my blog and emailed me to say he was friends with Krim in the 1970s.
I dropped a line to Head Butler’s Jesse Kornbluth, who responded that he knows Krim’s work and likes it.
Writer and reviewer Robert Leiter heard from Krim in the 1970s.
Chatted briefly with Stanford’s Steven Zipperstein at the talk he gave about Isaac Rosenfeld and I mentioned that I had a book out about another forgotten Jewish writer.
“Oh, Krim,” said Zipperstein. “I know Krim.”
Seymour Krim? Forget about forgotten.
